The purpose of this review is to evaluate the requirements of the Near Site Facilities, namely, Beamline and Near Site Conventional Facilities (NSCF) and determine if the facilities were to be built and installed as per the current requirements, the DUNE physics goals would be achieved.

Charge Question:

If the LBNF Near Site Facilities, (Beamline and Near Site Conventional Facilities) were built as per the current requirements, will the DUNE experiment achieve its Science goals?

The review will be in the following format:

  • Relevant documentation will be provided to the review committee no later than November 14, 2018. On that day, a one-hour kick-off teleconference will be held which will include presentations posted in the agenda.
  • Over the following approximately two weeks, the review committee will study the requirements documentation and interact with the LBNF Beamline and NSCF teams in order to develop an in-depth understanding of the requirements.
  • The review will conclude with a daylong face-to-face meeting at Fermilab on November 30, 2018, in which the review committee will provide feedback/comments.
